Now I'm really pissed

yo!
Okay so I finally get to reinstall windows, pop in my CD key to activate and I get an error: "Incorrect Product Key." So I try it again, and same thing.

I phone up Microsoft, and after being transferred all over the place, they claim that the hardware and product key are mismatched. They say this is a typical Dell issue and to call Dell.

On the phone with Dell for less than 10 minutes for them to tell me tough shit, you key is what we have and file and if it doesn't work to call Microsoft. So I call them back, they wont help saying support OEM has to come from the OEM.

Finally I broke down and bought a package from Microsoft to get a freaking key; $149 + taxes (not sure why there was sales tax...) Got the key via email, and the Cd in 4 to 6 weeks.

Upshot is I got the activation done, but I'm out about $160.

Jesus, but this has been one shitty week from end to end! With wow crashing on me every third step, I think you can imagine that I am more than a little upset at the moment.

So I'm angry, I'm sad, I'm disillusioned, and I'm hurting. And why am I feeling this gamut of emotions? Because at work they are stripping away the supervisor and lead on my team and replacing them with other people of less than stellar personality.

All based on senority, so they say, but certain favored employees got exemptions from the shift bid, and others were robbed of their positions on a whim. Never mind that the overnight team has *been* a team, consistent and whole for over 4 years now.

Ignore the fact that the management is always bitching about how the center doesn't act as a team, and are always throwing stupid ass "team building" exercises. WE ARE A TEAM! The only one in the center that acts like one! Fine, take away our people; but don't be surprised when you get a big steaming cup of FUCK YOU in the morning.

Just got a nasty, NASTY shock!

I just happened to log into my GEICO policy via the web to refresh my memory on the due date of the insurance bill. The payments are automatic, and I dont really need to keep an eye on it, but I was curious as of the due date so I looked:

Bill due date: 7/9/07, amount due : $46.68
Last payment : 7/9/07, amount paid: $46.68

Now wait a minute! I know they quoted me $109.xx per month for full coverage... how can full coverage be less than $50 a month??

Well I checked my coverages and the rat fuckers cut off my Comprehensive and Collision coverages on 6/29/07 WITHOUT a call, a letter, or an email! Exactly 20 days after I get the coverages mandated by the finance company, my insurance carrier trashes it and doesn't even bother to tell me! W.T.F. O_o

Anyways, so I call em and the guy blathers on about a system issue and how sorry they are that this has happened, and they will reinstate and backdate the coverage to 6/29/07.... just as soon as I fax them in a bill of sale! WTF kind of bullshit is this??

If someone steals my car, smashes into it, or something natural like a fire or a tree falling on happens before I get that fax off, I'm ruined! I'll owe the full amount of the car, GEICO wont cover it, and the gap insurance from the dealer wont cover it. My life would be absolutely ruined!

FUCK the insurance companies! Its not their lower, LOWER middle class ass on the line here

sad
Okay, so Im extremely pissed right about now.

Walked into work tonight only to be told that the company isnt catering Thanksgiving for the call center this year. Instead they are providing bagels of all things. This is, of course, after they have completed the volunteer signups for working the holiday knowing that most, if not all of us eho did volunteer did so because we thought we would still get a turkey dinner!

This company has done holiday catering for working employees basically since its inception back in the late 70's. Most people opt to work the holiday, away from their family and friends because the money is good, and they still give us the holiday dinner that goes along with whatever holiday is being celebrated.

To do so now, after all the signups are done, and you cannot back out is the purest form of employee abuse I can think of. And its not because of budget problems, though I know thasts the excuse they will use. We recently won two JD Power awards for our services and have reaped the rewards of that with an almost explosive run of new customers. Managers have gotten bonuses that would make your jaw drop, and several charities have gotten million dollar checks. hell, they even put 57 million over 15 years towards the new UCF Arena so there is no way they can justify a "Its just not in the budget" since we know that the budget is built with these expenses in mind.

Sorry about the rant, but damnit, it just pisses me off to no end *growls and snarls*

[Edit 11/22/06 12:41am] So, the overnight crew is going to put on a potluck, but since there is no real time to coordinate, we are just collecting $5-10 from each person and getting publix fried chicken and fixings. So its not a total loss, but the sneaky underhanded way they did this is what annoys me the most.
