So I'm settling into the new house okay, though I am learning quickly that the best laid plans change once the first arrow leaves the bow... so to speak. It still doesn't feel like I own a home, though it's been more than a month since closing. First mortgage payment is due 11/1 which is not too terribly far away. Should have no problems with that. I got well more than my share of the bills, but....

It looks like I have a lot of stuff to buy: A new dresser, nightstand, bookcase as my existing furniture just wont work in my new room.

We left a lot of stuff behind as it was crap and in need of replacing, but couches and tables are *not* cheep! My credit is almost exhausted, and actual monies are becoming quite scarce.

I think we need to take a step back and prioritize things. I can do without some of the niceties until the financial situation settles out a bit.

Okay so I finally get to reinstall windows, pop in my CD key to activate and I get an error: "Incorrect Product Key." So I try it again, and same thing.

I phone up Microsoft, and after being transferred all over the place, they claim that the hardware and product key are mismatched. They say this is a typical Dell issue and to call Dell.

On the phone with Dell for less than 10 minutes for them to tell me tough shit, you key is what we have and file and if it doesn't work to call Microsoft. So I call them back, they wont help saying support OEM has to come from the OEM.

Finally I broke down and bought a package from Microsoft to get a freaking key; $149 + taxes (not sure why there was sales tax...) Got the key via email, and the Cd in 4 to 6 weeks.

Upshot is I got the activation done, but I'm out about $160.

Jesus, but this has been one shitty week from end to end! With wow crashing on me every third step, I think you can imagine that I am more than a little upset at the moment.

I let Antimon talk me into trying WoW; should have known better, but oh well.

Got a lvl 59 cow hunter going strong.... or would have if the fucking game hadn't bullocks my talent points up. Attempted to submit a ticket, no response. The forums have a lot of people bitching about the same thing with multiple tickets open and unanswered for 48 or more hours. FUCK!

Also during this time, my raid in my gaming system shit itself. Looks like a common error for this board/chipset, but when I switched the SATA cables around, it was still out, except that it was now reporting the other drive. This is bad as it most probably means that 1 of the 2 drives died. No way to recover the data, as it was a RAID1 (striped) so i only have half the data.

Gotta RMA the drive and in the mean time I am forced to reformat the working drive and reinstall XP. We all know just how much fun that is *rolleyes*

Still all in all, this week has been shitty from the get-go. Work BS, home BS, 401k bs, house buying BS, and now game BS. It all adds up to a shit ton of stress, but thanks to eaglebeagle I got in just enough laughs and oh astonished oh shits! from the videos hes posted. Awesome stuff man :)

As I approach my 4 year anniversary working at Brighthouse, I have to sit back and wonder about it all. I both love and hate this job. I loathe going in every night to do the same shit over and over again, and yet once there, I generally have some fun because I work with a great group of people with whom I can talk with on just about any topic. Its a fucking conundrum...

So 4 years its been; 5 since I was fired at AT&T. That was another job I loathed every minute of the day, and yet had so much fun while actually there. had a lot of stuff happen while I was there. Met Heather, and though I still love and miss her terribly to this day, I feel that I would have been much better off for never have met her at all. Had a brief fling with Angela while I worked there. That wasn't a good idea at all. Not sure what I was thinking then, or why I did some of the outrageous things I did back then.

These days I am concentrating more on my own situation rather than trying to fill my life with someone else. I finally got my credit back on track after destroying it at age 18. I bought my first brand new car, and am currently shopping for a house. Got over 5k in my first 401k and at the start of my 5th year with BHN, I'll be in vested in the pension plan, so things are, for the most part, looking up for my financially.

Once I get past these baby steps, as I think of them, it'll be time to work on my personal issues. getting myself back into the dating game, looking for someone to spend the rest of my life with. Things are looking up, but in true form for me, I'm always looking out for the other shoe to drop...

Just noticed that I have been away for a long time. Haven't updated here since September 08, or worked on my website www.whitetailedkat.com since September of 2007!

As I said on my news page there, I get discouraged about it waaaayyy too easily and end up just ignoring it. I want a decent looking page with a few flashy bits like an animated header graphic and a dynamic menu. Nothing difficult for someone with the flash/DHTML skills, but beyond my paltry abilities.

I have tried several different programs to build me the kind of menus I'm looking for, but most of these are just too inflexible or bloat the site code like you wouldn't believe! Maybe someone out there has knowledge of a magical app that allows for some flexibility but is also n00b friendly?

In the mean time, Sabaton!

Jesus, but has it been shitty weather wise this week, what with Tropical Storm Fay basically stalled out over Central Florida.

Flooding is everywhere, the rains just wouldn't stop (and its still raining here, though this seems to be our normal afternoon T-storms, but dammit! Water is water, and we do NOT need any more for a good long time)

The lake outside my complex is up at least 2 ft, if not more, and is threatening to flood. The always piss poor drainage in the complex itself is totally overwhelmed making it hard to stay dry. Hell, even driving to work last night I almost swamped my car in a lake that formed in the middle of a road. The road is unlighted, and so I could really see the water until I was in it. Almost stalled out like 3 times, and I thought I wasn't going to make it. Hope it didn't hurt my car :(

But finally the weather is being given a chance to normalize here. Hope it does, and for those of you hit hard in the south, my thoughts are with you.

Yeah, haven't been here in a while. Shit happens.

Work is going well I should say. A little more than 8 months into my Final Write-up. That will drop off in November, and I will be set for another 3 years at Brighthouse Networks, making me even more stable financially than my father. Im pretty sure he hasn't held a job for 6+ years in his life.

Things at home are more or less fine. Haven't killed antimon yet, though I wish we could just be in a house of our own now. I've completed the hardest part of my preparations for buying a house. I've corrected my credit, am doing good paying my car loan, got 2 credit cards I am managing well and my credit score reflects it :)

So things are looking up, I am moving forward, if at a slower pace than I could wish. Next step is to try to work out some of my medical/psychological issues.

Anyways, here is a map of places I have been. Kind of interesting to see and remember some of those trips :)
